The Golden State is that part of Disney's Adventure Park which portrays California's rich history, from the gold flooded era to the days of discoveries and natural wonders, to its achievements in the aeronautical field.
Carrying the theme of this California Adventure Park, the Golden State pays tribute to the rich diversified culture of California. The Golden State is mainly divided in five sections; they are classified below.
Condor Flats: This part of Adventure Park is constructed with an inspiration from the aviation industry. The buildings you see here have an airplane hanger look with walkways having runway markings.
Its featured attraction is Soaring over California; it is a ride that makes one feel taking a hang glider tour of California. Besides you will find Fly n’ Buy shopping store and a Condor Flat Dining and Refreshment Restaurant.
Grizzly Peak Recreation Area: It is followed by Condor Flats. It portrays an abandoned gold mining operation of Northern California. The main focus of this area is The Grizzly Peak which is 110 foot high and is a bear shaped mountain, which is the origin of the Grizzly River Run attraction.
Besides this the Golden State includes the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which is a playground area; it also includes a show portraying characters from Disney's Brother Bear.
There is also a special entrance to the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, located in the same area.
The Bay Area: This area is themed on the Californian Bay Area history.
It has featured a film called Golden Dreams, which delineates Californian history in a very lucid way. It arranges shows and events for depicting the same.
A Palace of Fine Arts and a mural is constructed outside this theater for enlivening the moments of that time. Along with these the area is surrounded by the avenue of houses, the architecture of which resembles that of many old fashioned townhouses found in San Francisco.
The Golden Vine Winery: This area of Golden State is themed after the Napa Valley of Northern California and the Winemaking Industry. This area includes a dining restaurant, named Wine Country Trattoria, which serves wines and Italian Foods.
Formerly the area had an attraction, Seasons of the Vine; it was a film showcasing the history and changes throughout the seasons in the Napa Valley.
Pacific Wharf: This area is themed on an area called Monterey's Cannery Row, which is depicted in a novel of John Steinbeck. It also resembles a Fisherman's Wharf of San Francisco, for which it is named as Pacific Wharf.
