Hollywood Backlot also called as Hollywood Pictures Backlot is a rendered placed at Disney's California Adventure park. The park is located at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
The complete area is themed as a backlot of any Hollywood studio. It has many attractions based on the concept of pictures. The park was opened in 2001.
Hollywood Backlot has various attractions like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, which was opened in 2004. This attraction was more commonly called as Tower of Terror, in which there is a drop tower thrill ride in the Hollywood studios. This tower is based on the famous television show The Twilight Zone.
Another attraction of Hollywood Backlot is Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. This attraction is based on the movie monsters in Disney/Pixar. The attraction was opened in 2006 at the 50th anniversary of the resort.
Both the attractions give the thrilling experience to the wanderer. Person who is a freak of adventure enjoys the most here. One can take the pleasure of the unusual thrilling feeling by taking the ticket to Hollywood Backlot.
Disney's Aladdin is also a famous attraction of Hollywood Backlot. A Musical Spectacular show held in this attraction plays the Disney film by the same name. The show is played inside the Hyperion Theatre in the Hollywood Backlot.
The theatre is juxtaposed to the Tower of Terror. Jim Henson's Muppet Vision 3D attraction is a part of Walt Disney Resort. The attraction is a 3D film depicting Jim Henson's Muppets. This attraction uses audio-animatronics to give more sensual effects to the listeners.
Hollywood Backlot had a former attraction Superstar Limo. It is a dark ride at the Disneyland Resort. The attraction was located in the park but was closed in 2002. There was also one famous former attraction Who Wants To Be A Millionaire – Play It! This attraction had always been among the favorites of people.
Hollywood Backlot has a number of restaurants to cater the needs of people. Many of these restaurants are award winners. There is a Soap Opera Bistro which was replaced by Playhouse Disney Live on Stage! There are different shopping places in the Park.
Some of them are ABC Soaplink, Off the Page, Gone Hollywood, Studio Store, Tower Hotel Gifts etc. It is expected that Hollywood Picture Backlot will be renamed to Hollywoodland to represent the Hollywood glamour and glitz that was in the 1930s. |
