The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a feature of attraction based on 1992 animation film Aladdin, factually running out of Arabian Nights Stories. This ride is located at Adventureland in Magic Kingdom Theme Park, beside The Enchanted Tiki Room across Swiss Family Treehouse.
While taking you over Agrabah, this ride gives an imaginary indulgence into dream world described in famous story series of Arabian Nights. It is more or less like a version of Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride that has magic carpets in place of Dumbo elephants.
Sixteen carpets of the ride can accommodate four persons on each. Carpets are connected to a huge Genie lamp with arms. Genie lamp refers to invisible demon inhabiting the earth as believed by Muslims.
The demon can take any appearances. It is a tall animated bottle shaped structure with characters from animated film. Person sitting in the front of the carpet has control over carpet's up and down movements and one sitting at the back seat controls slow tossing movements.
So beautiful are these carpets following design styling of Persian arts that they look like coming straight out of the story book. It has greater semblance with Middle East flavors. Huge Genie lamp is based on architectural styles of monuments prevalent in the cultures of Persia countries back.
Beauty of ride as a whole gives a stupendous feeling of illusionary dream world, especially if you have read Arabian Nights Stories. Aesthetically embedded gems in Terra Cotta type tiles in walkway accentuate effect of olden times.
The effect gets heightened by water spewing nicely adorned camels; be careful if you don't want to get the splash. One of the camels faces ride spitting in mid level, while second one faces toward entrance with back and forth movement of head.
Normally this area gets congested due to its attracting powers. Often princess jasmine and Aladdin find time to move around the attraction, and you may be lucky one to get friendly with them.
